Harvey Alvin Sheets, Jr.

Hinesville Staff Sgt (Ret) Harvey A. Sheets, Jr. died at his residence Saturday, January 5, 2013 after a long illness. He was a native of Clarksburg, West Virginia and lived in Hinesville for 29 years. He was a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church, Vietnam Vet Chapter 789, American Legion Post 1684 and Disabled American Vets Chapter 46. He was predeceased by a sister Carolyn Sager. Survivors are his wife Kathy Sheets of Hinesville; daughter Jennifer Lino of Pooler; mother Jeanne Smith of Oregon; sisters Katherine Ward of Tigard, OR and Barbara Freebeck of Buckeye, AZ; 2 grandchildren Keoni Lino and Leila Lino. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville with Full Military Honors. Deacon Chad Chaffee will be officiating.
