Hinesville Lillian Grant Whitby, 86, died Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Altamaha Nursing Home in Jesup. She was a native of Ojus, FL and lived in Hinesville for the past 15 years. Lillian was a great cook and known for her special meal of black-eyed peas, rice and pork, and turnip greens – for good luck in the New Year. Lillian was always a very religious woman and enjoyed attending the Baptist churches both in Florida and Georgia and she had many friends in church. She was always meticulous in her grooming and loved to keep her hair looking nice. She was the first to laugh at a joke and at herself. She was predeceased by her first and second husbands Bob Musselwhite and Bob Whitby; daughter Evelyn Musselwhite Hemingway. Survivors are son-in-law Harold (Butch) Hemingway; stepson EK Jones; grandson Curt Hemingway; granddaughter Kathy Hemingway; 3 great grandchildren Samantha Sebera, Tony Hemingway, and Alex Hemingway; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the First Baptist Church of Hinesville. Memorial Service will be 10:45 a.m Sunday, December 23, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Hinesville.
