John Avery Jones

Hinesville SFC (Ret) John Avery Jones, 69, died Monday at Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a native of West Point, Va. SFC Jones Retired from the US Army after 24 years. He served 3 tours in Vietnam and worked as a DOD Contractor. He is predeceased by his son Steven Avery Jones Survivors are his wife Chong A. Jones of Hinesville; daughters Veanessa Jones and Claudette Jones of Hinesville; grandson Quinton D. Rodgers; 6 great grandsons; sister Queen Wiggins of Portsmouth, Va. and brother Arthur Jones of Ga. Visitation will be Friday, December 21, 2012 from 11-12 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Graveside Service will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville with Full Military Honors. Rev. Doug Force will be officiating.
