Emma Jean Hawkins

Emma Jean Phelps Hawkins, 78, received her port call December 10, 2012. She was a faithful member of Daniel Baptist Church, Sarah’s Seekers Sunday School Class, and The Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years CSM (Ret) Willie Hawkins; a son Ronald W. Hawkins; mother, Maude Gabbard; sister, Carolyn Phelps; sons-in-law, SSG (Ret) Philip Diehl and SFC (Ret) Roger Reed. She is survived by her children Clarice Diehl of Richmond Hill, Cheryl (Steve) Harris of Ludowici, and Rick Hawkins of Richmond Hill; a sister, Louise (Woody) Woodward of Burns, OR; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, December 14, 2012 from 6-8 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Daniel Baptist Church with burial to follow at Daniel Baptist Church Cemetery.
