Wanda Christine Gibbs

Medrim, GA Wanda Christine Anderson Gibbs passed away early Thursday morning, September 27, 2012 at Hospice House in Savannah, GA. Born March 31, 1929, in Glennville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Vonnie Sands Anderson and Arnold E. Anderson. Wanda was raised in Surrency, GA and graduated from Surrency High School in 1947. In 1951, she married Marvin Lewis Gibbs. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, J.F., Revis, and Gerald Anderson; and two sisters, Ann Stack and Mary Burch. She is survived by a brother, Edgar Anderson of Redding, CA; four children, June Gibbs Fordham (Tommy), Markie Gibbs (Debra), Lynette Gibbs Gay (James), and Michael Gibbs (Cheryll); seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and others. Visitation will be held Friday, September 28, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel with burial to follow at 3:30 p.m. at Beards Creek Cemetery in Glennville.
