Juanita "Sis" Matthews

Hinesville Juanita “Sis” Tucker Matthews, 72, born December 28, 1939, died September 1, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Ava G. Tucker of Eleanor, WV and Jesse C Tucker of Melbourne, FL. Sis graduated from Nitro High School, Class of 1957 in Nitro, WV. She was a member of the Hinesville First United Methodist Church and the Ollie Darsey Sunday School Class. She is preceded in death by her son, Joseph “Marc” Matthews who was a K-9 handler for the Hinesville Police Department. Sis is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joseph Matthews; grandchildren, William Matthews of Salt Lake City, UT and Ashley Matias of Hinesville; daughter in law, Mi Suk Matthews of Hinesville; three great grandchildren; sisters, Jacqueline McClanahan of Hundred, WV and Jane Jones (Bill) of Poca, WV; a brother, James Tucker of WV; several nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Leo and Anne McWatt. Visitation will be from 6-8p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Hinesville First United Methodist Church with a 1:00 p.m. burial at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Park in Glennville.
