William N. Bruce, Jr.

February 22, 1920 — May 9, 2012

Hinesville William Newton Bruce, Jr. 92, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Bethany of Vidalia. He was a native of Wilcox County before residing in Hinesville for 65 years. Mr. Bruce served with the Georgia State Patrol and the United States Air Force and is a Veteran of WWII. He owned and operated Bruce Amoco in Riceboro until he retired. Mr. Bruce was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the A.G. Overman Bible class. Survivors are his son Kelsey and (Barbara) Busby of Walthourville; daughters Billie B. Wilt of Charlotte, NC., Harriet and (Larry) McDaniel of Hazlehurst, and Julie and (Ronald) Snider of Foley, AL.; brother James and (Linda) Russell Lee of Hawkinsville, Ga.; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Visitation will be Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 10-11 a.m. with the Funeral starting at 11 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Richard Wright Officiating. Burial will follow at Flemington Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Honorary Pallbears will be the A.G. Overman Bible Class, Nathaniel Merritt, Hamilton Pirkle, and Jerry Martin. Active Pallbearers will be Sgt. Larry McDaniel, Lloyd Busby, Ted Deen, Rusty Lee, Kevin Pool, and Tony Zeigler. Memorials can be made to the A.G.
