Midway William “Bill” S. Cooler, 84, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital following a short illness. Mr. Cooler was a native of Brunswick, Ga. and lived in Midway for 15 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and WWII. He retired after 33 years from Kemira in Savannah. After retiring Mr. Cooler enjoyed rebuilding antique autos. He is preceded in death by his wife Emily E. Cooler Survivors are 3 sons; William D. and (Margaret) Cooler of Guyton, Jimmy and (Jeannie) Cooler of Midway, and Robert E. and (Carol) Cooler of Jesup; a brother, Carl Cooler of Maine; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Rusty Smith, Roger Browne, Glenn Iler, Jason Hoffman, Jared Patten, and Jason Patten Visitation is Saturday, February 25, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, Oglethorpe Chapel, Hinesville, Ga. Graveside Service is Sunday, February 26, 2012, at 2:30p.m. at Dorchester Cemetery, Midway, Ga. with Rev. Doug Cone officiating.
