Virginia Elizabeth Kiner

Richmond Hill Virginia “MeMe” Elizabeth Hassemer Kiner, 83, left to join her Lord and loved ones on Thursday, March 8, 2012. She died at her home under the care of Hospice Savannah. She was born on February 11, 1929 in her family home in Delaware Township, NJ to Hannah and Joseph Hassemer. For sixty-four years, she was married to Harold Kiner who passed away in May, 2011. She has formerly lived in Cherry Hill, NJ, Irwin, PA and St. Petersburg, FL. She moved to Richmond Hill three and a half years ago to be near her daughter. Over the years, Virginia worked at various part-time jobs but her favorite job was being a mother and grandmother. At the age of 38, she earned her nursing degree and worked as a surgical nurse for many years in Pennsylvania. Virginia spent her life devoted to her faith, friends, and family. Her generosity will never be forgotten by all the lives she touched. She will be forever in our hearts. She was a member of Circleville Methodist Church in Pennsylvania and Northeast Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg, Florida. She is survived by her loving children: daughter, Nancy Frye (Welty), of Richmond Hill and son, Bob “Tookie” Kiner (Dorothy) of Guilford, Indiana; six grandchildren, Mike Frye, Jimmy Frye (Angie), Missy Kiner Sauer (Tim), Mindi Kiner Ballard, Jackie Kiner Penning (Mark), and Robby Kiner (Molly); fifteen grandchildren; sister, Lillian Weaver; niece, Eileen Butler (Glenn); nephew, Raymond Schneider (Linda); friend and caregiver, Shelley Williamson and many beloved friends. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 12, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel.
