Murphy Foster McKeel

Murphy Foster McKeel passed peacefully in the arms of family on Valentines Day. He was born Jan. 18 and fought a hard battle for his short life. On Feb. 14 he was christened and within hours he left his family on earth to join his Heavenly Father. Murphy is the son of Daniel "Caleb" and Erica (Dryden) McKeel. He is survived by his grandparents, Lee and Sherry McKeel, Don and Patty Dryden, and Alberta "Beppy" and John Sweeney; great-grandparents, Bill and Alberta "Beppy" Butterhof and Mildred Dail; eight aunts and uncles, three cousins and a very large extended family. Murphy's family here on earth will miss him but rejoice that he is joining his grandmother, Deborah "Kaye" McKeel; great-grandparents, Emily and Foster Dryden, Clarence Dail and Daniel and Ella McKeel. Murphy inspired his family with his courage and fighting spirit. A memorial service and tree planting is being planned for Burlington, N.C. and Richmond Hill. While Murphy never left the Memorial Hospital NICU in Savannah, he still experienced great love and attention from not only his family but the nurses, doctors, and staff of the NICU who cared for him and his parents during his stay.
